One of my questions to guitarist Colin Newman couldn't make it in the final article, but I thought his response was great. It gave me a sense of the guy and his feelings towards the musical scene he grew up in.
Chris Castaneda: Having come from a music scene that produced bands like The Jam, Buzzcocks, The Clash and the Sex Pistols, what remains a driving force behind Wire still making music?
Colin Newman: Probably not being like any of the above (insert smiley face).
